According to JP, analysis of maltose hydrate should be done using an HPLC column filled with strong acid cation exchange resins. The system suitability requires to obtain their elution order to be maltose, glucose, and then ethylene glycol; and the resolution between maltose and glucose to be ≥ 4.
SUGAR KS-801 was confirmed to satisfy all required conditions for the analysis. The JP indicates to use 55 cm column, however 30 cm KS-801 column effectively separates the targets, satisfying the requirements (as long as a column meets the required system suitability, the use of different column length is allowed).
