Guar gum is a water-soluble polysaccharide from guar beans having a moleculae weight of 200,000 to 300,000 mainly consisting of mannose and glucose. It is used for food additives such as thickener, stabilizers and gelling agent. Furthermore it is known to carry out physiological effects such as suppressing rise in blood sugar level, cholesterol-lowering effect and bowel movement improvement. In this application, guar gum was analyzed using OHpak SB-806M HQ, a column for aqueous SEC column.
