Ion Chromatography Columns

There are two types of ion chromatography: non-suppressor method and suppressor
method. While the suppressor method requires a suppressing module, the non-suppressor
method can be used for ion analysis by simply connecting an electro-conductivity
detector to an all-purpose LC system.

At Shodex, we provide columns for cation/anion
analysis for both non-suppressor and suppressor methods. We also provide columns
for analyzing transition metal ions and rare earth metal ions using the post-column
reaction system. Column selection can thus be made based on your analysis needs
and type of ions.

These columns are for anion analysis using
the non-suppressor method. NI-424 is a high performance version of I-524A
and can analyze fluoride ion and phosphoric acid simultaneously which was
not possible with I-524A.
These columns are for cation analysis using
the non-suppressor method. Y-521 is suitable for the separation of various
alkylamines. YK-421 and YS-50 can be used for simultaneous analysis of monovalent
and divalent cations. YS-50 is a high performance version of YK-421.
These columns are for anion analysis using
the suppressor method. They demonstrate good performance in fluoride ion
assays, separation/removal of foreign organic acids and are not affected
by carbonate system peaks. They are thus suitable for anion analysis of
various samples. They can be used with ion chromatography systems equipped
with a suppressor.
T-521 is for analyzing transition metal ions
and R-621 is for analyzing rare earth metal ions. The high sensitivity of
metal ions in the post column reaction system can be used for measurement.
