An ionic liquid is a salt that is liquid below 100°C. The vapor pressure of the ionic liquid is extremely low, and it has features such as flame retardancy, low viscosity and high conductivity. Therefore, ionic liquids can be expected to be applied to battery electrolytes and environmentally harmonized reaction solvents. In this application, 1-Ethyl-3-methylimidazolium acetate, an ionic liquid was analyzed using HILICpak VC-50 2D, a polymer-based column for HILIC mode, with LC/MS detection.
