A polymer-based reversed phase column, ODP40-2D was used with a LC/MS to separate basic drugs, scopolamine and atropine. ODP series column exhibits smaller ionic adsorption compared to silica-based columns that have residual silanol groups. Hence, basic drugs can be analyzed with ODP series column under even at less salt condition. Salt concentration of the eluent is related to ion suppression and low salt concentration in the eluent is suitable for reducing ion suppression. The detection sensitivity of the analyte is reduced by ion suppression in LC/MS. So, the minimal salt concentration allows for highly sensitive detection of the analyte. Therefore, ODP series column is suitable for the LC/MS.
