There are nine kinds of naturally occurring inositol isomers and myo-inositol that have been used as aprophylactic or therapeutic drug for fatty liver and cirrhosis. Otherwise, D-chiro-inositol has been confirmed various physiological functions such as improvement of non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus and polycystic ovary disease. In this application, myo-inositol and D-chiro-inositol were separated using SUGAR SZ5532, a column for sugar analysis.
