In case of polymers which have both hydrophobic and hydrophillic groups, hydrophobic interaction with packing material may exist. For such polymers, the addition of organic solvents in the eluent can remove the hydrohorbic interatction. Since aqueous/organic (multi-solvent use) SEC column, Asahipak GF-7M HQ can be used with many types of organic solvents, it is suited to be used with mixed solvents.
