Question I would like to know more about the performance of Asahipak NH2P-50 column. I found an article where this column was used to resolve sugars in reverse phase, and according to your website, it is used in normal phase. I really want to know, how does the column separate different sugar molecules. I have seen GC-MS analysis, where the mono-saccharides come first, the di- second, etc. This is natural, because they elute in the order of their volatility, or reverse order of MW. Is this the case with the HPLC NH2P column? Your advise will be greatly appreciated.     Answer Shodex Asahipak NH2P-50 4E column is used as normal phase. And recently, normal phase separation with using the mixture of acetonitrile and water is represented as HILIC (hydrophilic interaction chromatography). Basically, the order of the elution depends on the number of OH group in the structure. In the case of neutral saccharides, the order of the elution is the polymerization degree as the following page. http://www.shodex.com/english/dc030314.html We will attach the detail information regarding Asahipak NH2P-50 column.
