Question We use the Shodex RI-101 detector connected to a Dionex HPLC machine. The machine uses Chromeleon software. The message appears though the software on the computer during a sample run. It happens about every 3 minutes. We also get a message periodically on the RI-101 screen that says “low light intensity”. A new light was installed by our service technician last week.     Answer We think this error message is based on the receiver for the signal. However, the error message may be made by the intensity alarm of RI-101. Could you please open the purge of RI-101 and run the eluent for a while? Intensity alarm is turned on when the refractive index of the reference cell and the sample cell is different a lot. In this case, it needs to equilibrate the inside of both cells by turning the “purge” key on .     Additional Comments
