Question I have a column of the sugar series SC1011 that I am using with an HPLC Agilent 1200 series. I was wondering if I could for few days, a week-end for example, just turn off the pump of the HPLC and let the column in the water, without any movement. My water is at pH 7 and is filtered at 0,2 micrometer. Also, can I keep the temperature of the column at 80 degree celcius while the pump is off or do I have to diminish it?     Answer If the column is not used for a few days, it does not need to remove the column from the LC system. Please finish the analysis with the following procedure. 1, Decrease the flow rate to 0.2mL/min, and cool down the column with running the eluent 2, After cooling down the column to the room temperature, stop the pump, and turn off the switches. 3, When the analysis is started again, run the eluent at 0.2mL/min at the first time, and heat the column to 80deg-C gradually. And please do not keep to heat the column without running the eluent to prevent the accident of the column. When the pump is turned off, cool down the column with the procedure mentioned above.     Additional Comments
