Category: Column Selection Product: SB Sample:
Question see above: The sample itself will be aqueous. As for 5000 MW, this is probably not the highest MW in the sample, just the one we are interested in isolating.     Answer Please choose the suitable column in the following column. ・OHpak SB-802.5 HQ (Exclusion Limit:10,000 Base Material:Polyhydroxymethacrylate) ・OHpak SB-803 HQ (Exclusion Limit:100,000 Base Material:Polyhydroxymethacrylate) ・Asahipak GF-310 HQ (Exclusion Limit:40,000 Base Material:Polyvinyl alcohol) Please see the specification of these columns. http://www.shodex.com/english/da060102.html http://www.shodex.com/english/da060204.html We guess polyvinylsulfonate is anion polymer. We recommend to add salts into eluent to prevent molecular swelling and ionic interaction between sample and packing material of the column. 50-100mM/L NaN03 or NaCl is suitable for eluent. If the polymer is hydrophobic, elution of the sample is later. In that case, it would be better to add organic solvent ( acetonitirile etc.)into eluent to prevent hydrophobic interaction between sample and packing material of the column.     Additional Comments
