Question
columns for amino acids

Answer
We do have an application for the analysis of 17 amino acid using CXpak P-421S.

However, as you can see from the analytical condition, it is a kind of complicated setting… and so the customer will be required to do this very carefully..I wish I could strongly recommend this column, but be honest with you, if you have a simpler method that you can recommend to the customer, I would say you should go ahead with it. If you don’t have one, please suggest our CXpak, but inform the customer about the analytical settings.

If they were to analyze fewer amino acids, we can recommend our YS-50 (IC) column.

or RSpak NN 814 (RP+IC)

About the fatty acids, I think DS-613 will be a better recommendation.

Although linolenic and oleic acids are not included in this application, based on their structures, I think linolenic acid will elutes out the first and oleic acid will elutes between palmitic and stearic acids. I’m hoping this separation can be done in isocratic, but most applications I found on the web seems to uses gradient…so the customer might need to adjust the mobile phase.
