Chiral Column Considerations for Enantiomeric Analysis of Abacavir Sulfate, Sertraline HCl, and Nevirapine

Record: 629

Category: Column Selection
Product: CDBS-453
Sample: Abacavir Sulfate, Sertraline HCl, and Nevirapine (API)

Question
A customer is looking to perform enantiomeric analysis of Abacavir sulfate, Sertraline HCl, and Nevirapine (API). Do you have a Shodex column recommendation?

Answer

The analysis described involves chiral separations, and Shodex CDBS-453 may be considered as a potential screening column for these compounds.

CDBS-453 is a chiral stationary phase designed for enantiomeric separations of pharmaceutical compounds, particularly those containing basic or heterocyclic functional groups. Based on the chemical structures of Abacavir, Sertraline, and Nevirapine, there is a reasonable possibility that CDBS-453 may provide enantioselective separation; however, method development and experimental evaluation are required to confirm suitability.

Because chiral separations are highly dependent on mobile-phase composition, additives, pH, and analyte structure, Shodex cannot guarantee enantiomeric resolution without further investigation. Screening different mobile phases and conditions is recommended to evaluate separation performance.

Additional Comments

To provide a more tailored recommendation, additional information such as mobile phase type (normal-phase vs reversed-phase), detector, and regulatory requirements would be helpful.
