Question
looking for a column to separate the following Raffinose, sucrose, glucose, maltose, mannitol, and fructose and inulin.

Answer
The client wants the degree of polymerization of the molecules, he had trouble separating maltose from sucrose. The client has used in some cases ion exchange column and want to know what benefit is our column against any other such an amine Agilet Column.
Also needs information about which column you suggest for oligosaccharides.

Do you think that SC1011 would do the job?

Additional Comments
Using SC column, sucrose and maltose will co-eluete.
Unfortunately, I don’t think all saccharides can be base-line separated using one column.
I’m assuming they are trying to see the degradation of inulin, for this, KS column is recommended.
We need information on the MW size of original inulin.

Other saccharides, I think NH2P50/NH2P40 will provide the best separation. However, inulin has to be removed before hand. Sample preparation can be found in technical notebook #2.

glucose, mannitol, and fructose may not be separated well..

For oligosaccharides, we need to know what type of oligosaccharide they are trying to analyze.
