Question
The customer application is as follows.

fractionation of lignocellulosic materials (sugarcane bagasse, sawdust, pine and eucalyptus pulp, among others) and our goal is the identification and quantification of the same component sugars glucose, mannose, xylose, galactose and arabinose, as well as cellobiose also present.
They want to have any application note or technical information

Answer
SP0810 is the suitable column for mentioned sugar analysis.

The method used here is a standard analytical method used by US National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
Most likely, the customer already has this information, but would recommend them to take a look at this method.

Also, I recently wrote an article on biomass analysis.

One thing I’d like to mention is that the final sample probably contains acid or if neutralized, other cations. Those can damage the SP0810 column. Thus needs to be removed beforehand. SP-G cannot remove and so customer needs either SPE sample preparation or as mentioned in NREL method, use BioRad’s deashing guard
