Question

A customer performing untargeted metabolomics is interested in using the Asahipak NH2P-50 2D column for HILIC analysis but would prefer a 1.0 mm I.D. custom format to improve sensitivity on a micro-flow LC–MS system. They would like to know whether Shodex manufactures the NH2P series in a 1.0 mm inner diameter, and if a column in that size can be ordered.

Answer

Shodex does offer NH2P-50 2D (2.0 mm I.D., semi-micro format) as part of the standard NH2P catalog. This is the smallest inner diameter currently available in the NH2P series and is well suited for semi-micro HILIC applications, including metabolomics workflows that require higher sensitivity than 4.6 mm formats.

However, Shodex does not manufacture a 1.0 mm I.D. NH2P column as part of the product lineup, and a 1 mm format is not available as a standard or stocked item. Custom production of smaller-diameter NH2P columns is not routinely supported, but customers may contact support@shodexhplc.com if they would like us to confirm feasibility with our production team.
