- We track mostly glucose and xylose in my group, but others track cellobiose, sucrose, fructose, galactose, arabinose and mannose. The column works fine for what we do for the most part but the fact that arabinose and mannose practically co-elute makes it difficult to close mass balance of sugars when data calls for it

I am going to ship the column back to you today, so please send us a new column as soon as possible. As I said yesterday, we have to have a coulmn sometime this week or early next week.
Answer
Please do not ship the column. Our standard policy does not allow us to make exchanges unless the packing material was damaged upon receipt. I will have to talk with my manager regarding any exchange.
Can you please send the chromatograms of the sucrose and glucose that were run before the ammonium acetate was used to equilibrate the column? Also, can you please send the analytical details used to acquire the data? This data will allow us to make a decision about the packing material.
