Question
I want to implement an Anion analysis method for the detection of HS-, So3- and S2O3- –
in a neutral pH aqueous solution also containing Cystein and protein.
The expected concentrations is approximately 1mM.

A method is proposed in your documentation using IC SI-90 4E with suppressor method. (*)

I have two questions for you

1) Can you help me identify the right suppressor ? I did not find the info in the Shodex documentation.

2) Why is there 5% acetone in the eluant, and doesn’t this make the detection at 210nm difficult ? Can I use acetonitrile instead ?

Answer
I think you are referring to the following application:
http://shodex.net/index.php?seitenid=1&reiter=r_prod&applic=691

Unfortunately, we do not have information about the suppressor used in the application, and we do not have recommendations for suppressors. You may want to contact an instrument manufacturer to aid you with these questions.

In the case that acetone is used as the eluent our technical support in Japan uses a UV filter to allow the use of acetone as the eluent. The acetone may be used for solubility reasons and in that case a substitution of acetonitrile should not be an issue.

Please let me know if I can provide further assistance with your application. Good luck.
