- We track mostly glucose and xylose in my group, but others track cellobiose, sucrose, fructose, galactose, arabinose and mannose. The column works fine for what we do for the most part but the fact that arabinose and mannose practically co-elute makes it difficult to close mass balance of sugars when data calls for it

What is the correct way to install the NH2P-50G 4A guard column?
Answer
The NH2P-50G 4A guard column should always be installed upstream of the analytical NH2P column, following the flow direction arrows on each column.

Connect the guard securely in front of the analytical column inlet.

Ensure all fittings are properly tightened and there is no dead volume between the guard and the column.
-
The guard column protects the analytical column by trapping particulates and strongly retained impurities. Replace the guard column regularly if backpressure increases or peak shape deteriorates.
