Question
. I have a question about sample analysis using columnn SH1011.

Can I use SH1011 column to analyze the mixture sample which contains glycerol, methanol(may be the large amount because it is solvent in the reaction), methy lactate and lactic acid? The sample is from catalytic reaction of Glycerol, methanol, causium oxide, NaOH. The sample pretreated using 1mol/L H2SO4 to adjust the PH value to around 3 and then passing through Ion-exchange column.

We also have developed a method to analyze the mixture sample of glycerol, lactic acid, propelene glycol in our HPLC using SH1011. The mobil phase is 0.05g/L H2SO4, flow rate is 0.6ml/min. Can I use this method to analyze my new sample? If not, would you please suggest me a method?

Answer
I have found two application with the column you currently have SH1011
related to the compounds you

are trying to analysed. They are both using column SH1011 under similar
conditions with the exception

of the flow rate. I am sending a third application with column SH1821 w
hich is similar to column SH1011

with the differences only being the exclusion limit. 1000 vs 10,000. I
would suggest to try to use

column SH1011 first and see what you can obtain..

As you can see SH1011 can separate Glycerol and Methanol with no problem
