Rezex RHM Monossacaride

Record: 442

Category: Column Selection
Product: KS-801
Sample: inuline, oligosaccharides

Question
she needs a column to quantify inulin and its fructo-oligosaccharides (Kestose (GF2), Nystose (GF3) and Frutofuranosylnystose (GF4)).

Answer
NH2P method (http://www.shodex.net/index.php?seitenid=1&applic=323) will be very good for smaller oligosaccharides, but I think inulin is going to stay in the column for very long time.. or not sure if it will even elute out.

So I think KS column will be a better option here. http://shodex.net/index.php?seitenid=1&applic=152
KS column works under SEC and ion exclusion, so using both their size differences and ionic strength differences, they can be separated.
SH column works similarly, but I think the exclusion limit will be too small for inulin.
Would you find out what will be the MW of their target inulin is?

If they need to separate all of them, it may require combining several KS series columns.
Below shows separation of oligosaccharides and monosaccharides.

Thus, suggestion will be to use KS-806, KS-802, KS-801 in series with 0.05M NaNO3 mobile.
