Does Shodex offer preparative chiral columns for separating enantiomers of heterocyclic compounds, such as dihydropyrimidine derivatives?

Answer

Shodex does not currently offer standard preparative or semi-preparative chiral columns in the catalog. Custom orders may be possible, but would require longer lead times.

For analytical-scale enantiomer separation, Shodex recommends the CDBS-453 column:

• Mode: Chiral separation

• Applications: Suitable for heterocyclic compounds, including those with dihydropyrimidine moieties and substituents such as pyridines, phenyl groups, esters, or acids.

• Recommendation: Analytical columns should be used first to establish separation conditions before considering a custom preparative-scale column.

Additional Comments

Other Shodex chiral columns such as CRX-853 and ABA-894 have been discontinued. The CDBS-453 is the available option in the current catalog.
