Record: 861

Category: Column Selection
Product: KC-811
Sample: Citric Acid and Malic Acid

Question
What are the recommended conditions for analyzing citric acid and malic acid using the Shodex KC-811 column?

Answer

The Shodex KC-811 column can be used for the analysis of organic acids such as citric acid and malic acid.

Recommended Conditions:

  • Mobile phase: 1-3 mM perchloric acid (HClO₄)

  • Detector: UV/Vis at 430 nm

  • Alternative detection: Refractive index (RI) detection may also be used for organic acids when UV sensitivity is insufficient.

The KC-811 is commonly applied for organic acid analysis in food, beverage, and fermentation samples, providing stable separation and reproducible retention times.
