Question
They were separating 6 sugars, including fructose, glucose, galactose, sucrose, lactose and maltose using Waters Alliance 2695 with ELS detection. They had trouble separating the galactose from the glucose on the Waters Carbohydrate column 3.9 x 300 mm, column temp 30°C and running isocratic at 20% H2O and 80% ACN.

In addition, they had also tried Shodex SP0810 Column, 8 x 300 mm and experienced the same separation problem with the galactose and glucose.

Answer
As Ron mentioned, NH2P series might be the other option.

However, as the customer is aware of, SP0810 provides the best separation between galactose and glucose.
If they are willing to try, I would recommend trying NH2P-40 3E as it provides higher resolution than NH2P-50 4E and it is still on campaign.

Other option might be DC-613. But as you can see galactose/glucose cannot be baseline separated.
