Technical question – NYU

Answer
I think the following application data may be a hint for the analysis condition.

http://www.shodex.com/english/dc020405.html

GS-320 gel performs as the multi mode, though this eluent condition is not usable for MS.
So I think this separation mode may work with using a volatile eluent condition for this case.

For LC/MS, MSpak GS-320 4D (4.6mmID x 150mmL) or 2D(2.0mmID x 150mmL) may be usable.

However, I have one concern about the dissolving condition for the target.
Your professor is using the eluent condition including HFIP.
On the other hand, GS-320 cannot be used with this solution.
If HFIP is needed to dissolve the target solute, for example, GS-320 is not suitable for this analysis.

I understood that the target is hydrophobic, and it needs to use a lot of organic acids to elute it from the column.
So, could you please confirm if HFIP is must be used for the target?
If 100% of methanol is enough as the organic solution is the eluent, we can recommend to use GS-320.
