- We track mostly glucose and xylose in my group, but others track cellobiose, sucrose, fructose, galactose, arabinose and mannose. The column works fine for what we do for the most part but the fact that arabinose and mannose practically co-elute makes it difficult to close mass balance of sugars when data calls for it

Remind me.. this is a Silica 5C8 and not Asahipak C8P, correct?
Also probably I forgot to ask last time, were they having this pressure problem from the beginning or after using it for a while?
If hot water doesn’t work, maybe they need to try something stronger.
-Clean the column (back-flow) using 100% MeOH, if this doesn’t work 100% THF at 50oC.
-Also please check if they are “degassing” the solvent thoroughly.
-And please ask them to follow the column trouble shooting (pressure elevation) on catalog pg31.
